Helpful Highlights

  • We had three members of the Woodford County Public Schools family to highlight. 
    • Caitlin Adkins, Woodford County High School School Counselor

    • Officer John Carmichael, Woodford County Middle School School Resource Officer

    • Anna Noland, Simmons Elementary Teacher

  • Dr. Josh Rayburn, WCPS Chief Operations Officer, provided helpful updates to Senate Bill 181, which is the traceable communication law. 


Superintendent’s Report
Dr. Lori Jones shared some highlights of our month. She shared details of her superintendent training and a reminder about the timeline of our district budget. Click here to view the presentation with visuals and more information. 
School Report

Mrs. Robin Taylor, Principal of Northside Elementary, presented on the areas of focus at Northside this year. Students shared both about the profound impact that the House System has had on their school experience and shared about the deeper learning project that is allowing students to be Responsible Contributors in their community. Click here to view the presentation with visuals and more information.

Board Presentations
  • New High School Project Update: WCPS Chief Operations Officer Dr. Josh Rayburn provided updates to the Board regarding enhancing the parking lot and repairing the concession stand. 

  • Curriculum & Instruction Update: WCPS Chief Academic Officer Ryan Asher presented on the Cognia accreditation process and shared updates regarding the WCPS Access & Advocacy Team. Click here to view the presentation with visuals and more information. 


The Consent Agenda was approved, which included: donations, fundraisers, travel, contracts, and waivers of liability.

Regular Agenda Items

The board approved the notification of personnel matters and payment of bills, March Board meeting minutes, March financial report, shortened school day/school week requests, hardship requests, and the Certified Evaluation Plan (CEP). 

  • In the March financial report document, it is recorded that the district has a 7% reduction in expenses over the last year. The Board noted special thanks to everyone who has contributed to this incredible reduction.
